Schedule Full time Monday to Friday 07:30am to 04:00pm. $27.00 to $31.00 base hourly rate plus health and welfare

We are searching for a skilled general maintenance mechanic to perform and document efficient operation, maintenance and repair of building systems. Building systems include HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, masonry, flooring, and hardware.

General Maintenance Requirements to be Successful:

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or in a similar role.
• Facilities maintenance in government, hospital or school environment is preferred.
• Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Computer skills and strong attention to details.
• Ability to document, communicate and follow up effectively.
• Good troubleshooting skills.
• Operate fork lift and other lift equipment.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Trade or vocational school graduate preferred.
• Must be able to acquire and maintain a Federal Public Trust Clearance to be badged for the federal government job site.
• Pass background check and drug screen.

General Maintenance Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, assemble, repair, and maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• General maintenance and repair skills in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical.
• Hang doors, install door locks, replace windowpane and any hardware.
• Repairing or replacing sinks, faucets, water coolers, toilets.
• Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to perform manual labor that requires standing or walking/moving up to 85% of the time, as well as working on ladders over twelve (12) feet, crouching, bending, and accessing constricted spaces.
• Reach, pull and maneuver to work on equipment; and use tools and materials.
• Ability to lift, carry and move objects more than fifty (50) pounds.
