Konnect Fuel (KGS Operations) has an immediate opening for a Fuel Billing Specialist in our Houston office. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Fuel Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing fuel billing processes, ensuring accurate invoicing, and maintaining effective communication with customers and vendors. This role is crucial for ensuring timely billing and fostering strong relationships with clients.

As a billing specialist, you must be accurate and reliable in handling accounts and documents. Being good at math and a high degree of organizational ability are essential due to the great amount of financial information. Since you will be using technology to expedite your work, a solid degree of computer knowledge is required. The goal is to contribute to the accurate preparation of bills receivable and safeguard the company's income.

Job Description:

  • Billing and Invoicing: Prepare and process fuel invoices accurately and promptly, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Regularly review and follow up on outstanding accounts to manage cash flow effectively.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze billing reports, providing insights to management on trends and issues.
  • Data Entry: Input and maintain billing data in our systems, ensuring all information is up to date and accurate.
  • Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding billing, resolving issues and providing exceptional service.
  • Reconciliation: Assist in the reconciliation of fuel accounts, investigating discrepancies and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze billing reports, providing insights to management on trends and issues.
  • Vendor Coordination: Communicate with fuel suppliers and vendors to confirm deliveries and resolve any discrepancies related to billing.
  • Compliance: Ensure all billing practices adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the billing process.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a similar role, ideally within the fuel or logistics industry. Demonstrated experience as a billing specialist or in general accounting is essential.
  • Strong understanding of legal requirements and confidentiality standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications, particularly Excel and Sheets. Familiarity with relevant software (e.g., QuickBooks, Petro-Data) is a plus.
  • Excellent mathematical aptitude.
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and trustworthiness in all tasks.
  • Proficient in English.
