Job DetailsJob LocationWOCO Transportation Office - Truesdale, MODescriptionThe Dispatcher position is responsible for planning and scheduling CDL drivers in a local environment. This individual is responsible for running a fair and efficient fleet of trucks through the use of dispatch software and is also responsible for buying products on the company's behalf at the most advantageous price and location.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES•Buy and sell fuel while creating maximum profitability for the company.•Manage fuel inventory levels for FastLane retail locations and other locations as assigned.•Possess the ability to determine and accept as many transportation loads as the company can handle.•Ability to make logical, quick decisions with company profitability top of mind.•Monitor retail pricing and inventories; communicate with Retail Management staff when adjustments need to be made at a FastLane retail location.•Schedule product pickups and deliveries; ensure deliveries are made in a safe and efficient manner.•Effectively communicate with customers and transportation drivers alike, responding to needs/calls in a timely manner. Create and maintain professional relationships.•Dispatch transportation drivers efficiently and timely, focusing on increasing revenue per mile while meeting DOT Hours of Service requirements. Communicate load changes timely.•Remain current on all DOT policies.•Maintain confidentiality regarding all company, customer, and driver data (e.g., pricing information).•Adhere to all company policies and procedures.•Adhere to all city, county, state, and federal regulations pertaining to the proper operation of equipment, chemical usage and storage, hazmat requirements, and OSHA requirements. Observe safety protocols.•Advise the Company of any actions/situations that pose a threat to any employee, customer, or guest.•Project a positive image/speak positively of the company at all times.•Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.•Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a proactive approach.•Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.•Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.•Critical thinker and logical with good mathematical skills; take initiative and problem-solve with facts.•Financial management; make timely and accurate decisions based on facts; ability to negotiate prices.•Maintain a high standard of confidentiality of all employee and customer records and information.•Exhibit adaptability and be agreeable to changes.•Job may require other duties as assigned.QualificationsEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & TRAINING•2-5 years of dispatching, logistics, and/or fuel driving experience preferred•Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite products•Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.•WORKING CONDITIONSWORK ENVIRONMENT•This job operates in a professional office environment. PHYSICAL ABILITIES•Clear verbal communication skills to interact with co-workers and answer questions.•This is largely a sedentary role; however the employee should be able to sit, and occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.•The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
