**Description**

LUMA Hotel is seeking a Full Time **cook/prep cook** to join our dynamic team!

The **cook/prep cook** will prepare food orders efficiently and consistently and assist in maintenance of kitchen. There are front of the house guest contact interactions while working a show kitchen.

**Flexible schedule is required! Must have open availability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays. Must be available to work AM and PM shifts.**

**JOB DUTIES:**

* Oversee the preparation of food according to menu specs, ensure timely delivery, food quality, consistency and presentation.

* Interact with guests with a hospitable and knowledgeable demeanor.

* Prep food items for service on a daily basis

* Keep stations clean, organized, and fresh daily

* Prepare appropriate items at your station according to business demands

* Communicate with other members of the culinary team

* Maintain appropriate par levels of food items depending on business levels

* Checks and maintains coolers and storage areas for cleanliness, quantity and quality of food products

* Requisitions food with necessary approvals according to policy

* Takes proper care of ranges, ovens, broilers, fryers, griddles, utensils and other equipment

**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**

* Prior experience as a prep/cook or line cook in a hotel or restaurant

* Solid communication skills.

* Previous culinary training

* Certified in food handling and food safety sanitation requirements.

* A pleasant attitude and outgoing personality

* Excellent time-management skills and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple changing priorities is a must!

* Strong attention to detail

* The ability to understand guest service needs and the ability to work cohesively with co-workers and other departments as part of a team.

* Ability to communicate in English
