Position SummaryThe Dietary Assistant is responsible for maintaining the food preparation and serving areas in a sanitary condition. This individual will also be heavily involved serving quality food in a timely manner while maintaining the elegance, grace and dignity of each resident.Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains kitchen and dining area in a safe and sanitary condition for self, residents and others
- Performs food preparation and food service duties as required according to facility guidelines and the current standards of practice
- Responds to resident dietary requests in a positive and cooperative manner
- Assists residents by providing a restaurant-style atmosphere
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Food service experience preferred
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must have appropriate food handler's permit
- Must enjoy working with seniors
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiries
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, grasp, handle, kneel, pull, push, stoop, squat, twist and transfer
- Frequently required to lift 50 pounds
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
- Frequently required to talk and hear
- The noise level in the work environment can be quite loud
