Key Responsibilities: The Patient Companion provides essential companionship and supportive care for patients requiring constant observation. Key responsibilities include:

• Creating a safe, private, and comfortable therapeutic environment.
• Redirecting impulsive and harmful behaviors as needed.
• Maintaining visual contact with the patient at all times, unless directed otherwise by nursing staff.
• Summoning help in case of potential self-injury or inability to redirect the patient.
• Participating in shift report and sharing relevant information with the nursing staff.
• Accompanying patients to clinical tests, procedures, or appointments outside the unit.
• Engaging patients in conversation to maintain focus and comfort.
• Assisting patients with meals when appropriate.
• Helping with bed making and maintaining alarms as necessary.
• Assisting staff with walking patients when needed.

Work Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania Schedule: Full-time, 36 hours/week, working from 7pm-7:30am (3-12 hour shifts/week) with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
