Position Type: Support Staff/Paraprofessional-Highly QualifiedDate Posted: 12/1/2023Location: Carrollton High SchoolDate Available: 2024-25 School YearDistrict: Carrollton Public Schools - websiteTHE FOLLOWING POSITION IS AVAILABLE FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR FULL TIME PARAPROFESSIONAL CARROLLTON HIGH SCHOOLSUMMARY OF POSITION: The Special Education paraprofessional position works under the direct supervision of the program teacher and building administration. The paraprofessional will meet the needs of individual students as well as the class as a whole. Additionally, parking lot duty, lunchroom duty, hall monitor duty, after school tutoring, and other duties may be assigned. REPORTS TO: Ed Boell, CHS Principal, Steven Benson, CHS Assistant Principal COMPENSATION: As per the Paraprofessional Contract QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to cooperate with teachers, students, and administration; work as part of a team.
  • Shall attend required workshops and in-services to receive additional training to improve job skills.
  • To keep all student, parent, and staff information confidential.
  • To keep a positive attitude working with students, parents, other staff members, and community members who visit Carrollton Public Schools facilities or programs.
  • Demonstrate competency in technology; work with Skyward, Microsoft Office, Google Classroom, Google Docs, sheets, forms, etc.
  • Shall be able to utilize instructional plans, strategies, methods, materials and techniques that best meet the needs of individual students.
  • Ability and willingness to provide behavioral modifications when necessary.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of high school students.
  • To ensure a safe environment for students at all times.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job expectation.
  • Ability to follow through on commitments.
  • Must act in a professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisors.
  • Successful completion of a probationary period as outlined by the Carrollton Association of Paraprofessionals contract
  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Preferred individuals have a degree or if requested the ETS Parapro Assessment.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
  • Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • Must be sensitive to student needs
  • Must satisfactory pass
  • Law enforcement background check with fingerprinting at district's expense
  • Personal and professional reference background check
  • Must receive a satisfactory response to a P.A. 189 letter (Misconduct Law)
