Summary:
Reporting to the Head of ALM Analytics & FTP, this functional leader will oversee a team of analysts to advance our FTP methodology, reporting, and governance practices in alignment with SR16-3. This includes partnering with stakeholders across the bank, including business segments, FP&A, and Corporate Treasury.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Work closely with stakeholders to align and recommend FTP methodology enhancements to better align FTP with capital, liquidity, and interest rate risk considerations.
* Maintain and update FTP methodology, assumptions, and tools that translate real-world dynamics into mathematical representations of behavior. Our forecasts focus on existing balances, new originations, loan prepays, rates paid/offered via multiple rate indices, repricing sensitivity, deposit balance retention and align with Interest Rate Risk models and assumptions
* Identifies and implements solutions to enhance performance and efficiencies of FTP systems and processes necessary to become best practice. Leads the drive for greater product granularity of FTP measurement and alignment with SR 16-3.
* Research problems, develops and communicates potential solutions to decision-makers, then works to resolve the issues
* Actively participate in the coordination, reconciliation, and preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly management reports accurately and on time, with appropriate evidence of review
* Is self-directed at identifying other tasks and responsibilities that enable smooth functioning of the FTP Team functions and pro-actively mitigate risks with active communication practices
* Strong solo contributor
* Partner with Treasury leaders to manage FTP within management guidelines.
* Perform other job duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree, MBA or Master's degree in a quantitative field (economics, mathematics, statistics, physics, etc.) with relevant experience.
* At a minimum, 7+ years of successively responsible positions in large financial institutions/banks with experience working in Treasury, Risk, and/or Finance.
* Experience in a managerial role to develop and lead colleagues and projects
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in Financial Modeling and appropriate governance with respect to data, analytics, and reporting.
* Experience developing and governing models in standard data automation management and statistical software (e.g., SQL, R, SAS, STATA, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience explaining model results and limitations to non-technical audiences through executive level management reporting.
* Skilled in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel (advanced).
* Advanced knowledge and experience working with bank financial statements, line of business financial statements and the contractual and behavioral mechanics of loan and deposit products.
* Ability to extract meaningful information from raw data and develop relevant reporting that can be used for decision-making by management; advanced analytical skills
* Strong interpersonal and analytical problem-solving skills.
