GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Funeral Service Program Instructor(s) will teach Social Foundations of Funeral Service (FSR128) according to ABFSE accreditation requirements. This role requires in-person instruction from the Bridgewater State University Campus through HyFlex technology (students in-person and via zoom simultaneously). Class will take place Fridays from 9:00 am - 11:45 am in the Fall semester.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
* Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes.
* Select and develop appropriate materials and technology for class use.
* Assess student progress related to defined student outcomes.
* Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Graduate of an ABFSE accredited funeral service or mortuary science program.
* Bachelor's degree.
* Maintain current and active licenses with Massachusetts's Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers as a Funeral Director and Embalmer if teaching in person or in your state of residence if teaching remote.
* Three years' current practice experience in the field of funeral service/embalming.
* Skill in implementing active and collaborative learning strategies.
* Skill in measuring student learning outcomes and assessments, evaluating course efficacy, and improving student learning.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's degree.
* Prior college-level teaching experience in an ABFSE accredited funeral service or mortuary science program.
* Evidence of innovative use of evolving instructional technologies in the classroom and use of learning management systems.
* Experience, appreciation, and commitment to working in a global, multicultural academic setting and to the mission and the goals of a community college.

COMPENSATION: Anticipated starting salary - Step I DCE Pay Scale; part-time, non-benefited, MCCC Unit Position.
