Future Warfare Data Analyst
Provides SME support services to Integration and Analysis Branch of the Future Warfare Division (FWD) throughout the design and execution of the Future Study Program (FSP). Analysts will support all aspects of collection and analysis of wargame/event quantitative data. Support will vary based on event design and includes:
Develop and maintain relational database tools for qualitative and quantitative data collection, specifically using MS Access or SQL, consistent with requirements from the Data Collection Management Plan.
Generate data visualization using MS Excel or Power BI.
Employ visualization methods and tools to communicate Model and Simulation results
Participate in research design, wargame design, establishment of learning demands, metrics, measures of performance and evaluation, and test requirements to ensure correct and successful data collection and analysis
SharePoint lists and forms development for data capture (observations, requests for information, survey instruments)
Develop methods of data capture using Adobe distributed forms
Support development and maintenance of event participant product templates to support data collection and management for wargame analysis.
Maintain shared working files to support wargame design and planning.
Archive Future Study Program files to support future design efforts.
Collects and posts information to be shared to Army Modernization Enterprise (e.g. Forge, DTIC, SharePoint, etc.)
Trains FSP participants on the use of collection and analysis tools
Specific knowledge, skills, and experience include:
Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research methods across a variety of categories and methodologies (e.g., experimentation, grounded theory, interviews, surveys, focus groups, codesign, concept testing).
Experience in conducting data analysis; identifying data sources, collecting data, analyzing data, interpreting data, and extracting data for visualization and reports.
Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong experience in Army, Joint, or hobby war gaming.
Preferred experience working with senior General Officer (GO)/Flag Officer (FO) / Senior Executive Service (SES) officials.
Preferred experience working in Joint and Army Command headquarters
Required:
Bachelor's degree or an Associates Degree in technology related field
Clearance: Eligible for Secret
Microsoft Office Specialist: Associate Certification or 3 years related work experience
Proficient with MS Access, SQL, MS Excel, and/or Power BI
Broad understanding of knowledge management
5+ years military
Desired:
Masters degree
5+ years conducting quantitative analysis of relational databases (SQL or Access)
5+ years employing data visualization tools (Excel or Power BI)
5+ years experience with programming languages (Python, R, or C+)
Strong interest in future technologies and future operating environments
Travel:
As required estimated 10-15% a year
Target salary range: $80,000 - $95,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
