Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
This position is for LIU Post Federal work Study Students only. The Fitness Room Attendant oversees and supervises the BlueFit Cardio Center, BlueFit Strength Center, BlueFit Fitness Center, and/or the front desk at the Pratt Recreation Center. This position is responsible for providing a clean, safe & welcoming environment for all users. The Fitness Room Attendant works closely with Building Managers and the Director of Campus Recreation. The responsibilities of this position include enforcing safety protocols and managing all equipment to ensure equipment and machines are sanitized, organized, and operating properly.
Fitness Room Attendant Responsibilities:
? Ensure the fitness area remains clean & organized
? Adhere to Campus Recreation University policies
? Actively supervise the Steinberg Wellness Center
? Act in a professional manner by upholding LIU Policy when involved in conflict management with patrons, students, & staff
? Perform opening/closing procedures of the fitness room
? Display a positive and enthusiastic attitude for all patrons
Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
? Interest or field of study related to health and fitness preferred
? Experience with weight room equipment and machines
Working Conditions:
? Flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, are required to execute the position's role responsibly.
? Occasional travel to/from other LIU campuses for the facilitation of trainings, meetings and other university functions.
Materials & Equipment:
Computer, fax machine, copier, phone.
