We are currently looking to fill a Game Day Assistant position assisting the Athletic Director during Home Games. The total stipend for this position is $8,000 and is divided evenly between the Fall, Winter and Spring sport seasons. For the remainder of the 24/25 school year the position will be paid a pro-rated portion of the $8,000. Beginning the 25/26 School Year the position will be paid the full $8,000.
The Game Day Assistant is responsible for assisting the Director of Athletics and Recreation on game days for at home games. The Game Day Assistant must be available to be on-site when games are schedule at home and provide support to the Director of Athletics and Recreation to ensure that games run smoothly and students are safe. The Game Day Assistant is also responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all students within his/her assignment, is committed to the Atlantis Charter School Board of Trustee's policies regarding equity, human rights and cross cultural understanding and reports directly to the Director of Athletics and Recreation or his/her designee.

POSITION: Game Day Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Previous experience coaching preferred.
* First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion training preferred. (High School only: MIAA Fundamentals of Coaching, and Sport Specific certification if applicable.)
* Must be available to attend activities, practices, games, and meetings outside of school hours as necessary.
* Must be available on evenings and weekends.
* Must be dependable and reliable.
* Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Ability to relate well to others.
REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics and Recreation
SUPERVISION: None
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
While actual roles and responsibilities will vary depending on individual circumstances, Game Day Assistant will generally be required to perform some or all of the following tasks. Note that this list is not all-inclusive and that the administrator may also assign other tasks he/she deems appropriate.
1) The Game Day Assistant assists the Director of Athletics and Recreation with:
* Setting up the volunteer and stipend staff for the game day, or recreational event.
* Filling in when a volunteer or stipend staff member is out.
* Providing support in setting up game-day equipment for each home game. This includes all field/court marking equipment, field lining, field preparations, scoreboard, and sound equipment.
* Breakdown and storage of all game day equipment after the conclusion of the game or event.
* As directed, work with external support staff including the Police Detail representative, Athletic trainer and the EMS services team for football home games.
* Ushering incoming officials to show them where to prepare for the game.
* Ushering incoming team coaches to show them where the locker rooms/fields are located, and instruct them on any rules and regulations for their use.
* Basic security on the field/court or in the audience.
* Intramural/recreational activities as a supervisor, if needed.
* Pre-Season coaching meetings.
* Taking part in the creation of and running of seasonal parent nights, and end of season awards nights or banquets.
* The giving out and return of sports equipment to and from coaching staff, if needed.
* Yearly inventory.
* Recommendation of replacement equipment or new equipment, if needed.
2) The Game Day Assistant is to back up the Athletics Director if they are absent.
This will include following the daily checklist.
* Checking the game schedule for the day.
* Checking weather conditions that may interfere with the scheduled games.
* Checking any travel needs for away games or away practices.
* Checking Arbitersports.com to check on officials scheduled to be here for any particular sport.
* Contacting Opponents to confirm the games that day.
* Contacting any Stipend, or volunteer staff that will be working the games to confirm their attendance.
* Contacting the opponent, the officials (head arbiter), volunteers and Mr. Mitchell (travel, for away games and practices), if there will be any changes to the schedule due to weather related or field condition, cancellations.
* Following game day preparations as normal for Game Day coordinator.

EVALUATION: To be completed by the Director of Athletics and Recreation.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Stipend as negotiated per agreement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to run, walk, sit and stand for long periods. May be outside during inclement weather for games. Travel to and from meetings may be required.
