JOB SUMMARY:The Lift Operations Department is a fun and exciting way to join the on-mountain ski industry and the Monarch family. Gate Attendants should have a positive attitude, enjoy being outdoors, and happily greet guests while verifying their tickets. Gate Attendants effectively and efficiently verify all lift tickets or season passes and maintain lift line mazes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:The Gate Attendant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Check lift tickets or season passes of 100% of the individuals riding the assigned lift to ensure non-fraudulent access and an accurate count of all lift users (excluding in-uniform, on-duty Monarch employees).
  • Set up and maintain lift line maze at assigned lift station for a reasonably safe, obvious, convenient and organized approach to the lift loading area by lift users. Break down lift line maze at end of day as necessary.
  • Work as a team with other members of the Lift Operations department to provide exceptional service in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Monitor the gates to ensure guests get through in a timely manner so that lift lines continue to move in conjunction with the loading of the chairs/conveyor.
  • Address any and all damaged, missing or invalid tickets/passes in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum Age: 16
  • Ability to push, lift, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Legal citizen of the United States or possess other proper work permit authentication.
  • Requires working at high elevation (up to 12,000'), with extended exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as severe cold, heavy snowfall, rain, strong winds and intense sun.
JOB TYPE: Winter Seasonal, Full and Part TimeCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
  • Compensation: Begins at $18 per hour, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience/length of service.
