Our team works together to achieve amazing results, we share a sense of purpose and belonging that goes beyond the day-to-day, and we have a passion for applying sound risk practices to enable our business units to inspire and build better lives and communities.The Technology GCO Issues Management Senior Manager is responsible for facilitating the identification, assessment, remediation, and monitoring of issues across the technology portfolio. This role reports to the Tech GCO Program Execution Executive and provides support directly to the Head of Technology GCO and peer teams across the Tech GCO organization, including Risk Advisors and the technology teams they support. A successful candidate will have the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, this position requires effective coordination, management of tasks, activities and artifacts, planning, organizing, and executing risk remediation from start to finish, and effective communication across teams and other lines of defense.The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in Issues Management and a strong understanding of formal risk management processes. The Technology GCO Issues Management Senior Manager must demonstrate sound judgment, strong relationship skills, plan management experience, a risk-based mindset, a flexibility to re-focus based on evolving priorities, and a level of trust to serve as a valuable resource to leaders within the Enterprise Technology, GCO, and Risk Management organizations.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Partner with key stakeholders and senior leaders to:Ensure identified issues receive appropriate remediation and corrective actionCoordinated end-to-end Issues Management processes and ensure that technology complies with published policy/process requirementsEffectively lead Issues Management routines and tollgates with key stakeholders and focus on outcomesWork with peers across technology and GCO organization to promote, influence, and challenge risk management expectations, and provide clarity on risk appetiteCollaborate with risk advisors, technology leaders, technology SMEs, Risk Management Organization (LOD2), audit partners (LOD3), and other key stakeholders to document self-identified findings and the corresponding risk mitigation plansCoordinate closely with the Risk Management Organization (LOD2) and Audit (LOD3) to ensure proper program adherence and regulatory complianceManage and guide team in coordinating and performing root cause analysis, corrective action development, and determining sustainabilityEnsure team is creating detailed corrective action plans with appropriate milestone timelines to ensure timely issue closure in accordance with Issue Management policyReview issue closure memos for thoroughness in supporting the action plan and issue closureDrive progress and consistency in developing remediation plans to strengthen controls and drive accountability for risk reduction activities, especially those that span across Enterprise TechnologyCreate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting on issues portfolio to drive awareness of holistic risk exposure across Technology GCO and participate in issue status callsProvide appropriate training and awareness to promote positive risk cultureConfirm business activities operate within risk appetite and expectationsProvide coaching and mentoring to support growth and development of teammates and provide a pipeline of talent to the organizationServe as backup to the Program Execution ExecutiveOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or science/academic field, or equivalent education and related training or experience.Seven years of risk management leadership experience in financial services or related field, and/or equivalent education, training and experience.Five years or more of leadership experience in resiliency and disaster recovery.Broad risk and regulatory knowledge with an emphasis on: Credit, Market, Liquidity, Compliance, Operational, Reputation and Strategic Risks.Strong leadership and communication skills.Ability to think critically and strategically, multi-task, and drive change.Strong quantitative, governance, and analytic abilities.Ability to provide effective challenge to senior levels of leadership.Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.Ability to travel, occasionally overnight.Preferred Qualifications:Fifteen years of risk management experience in financial services, technology or related fieldTen years of demonstrated leadership experience leading teams and high-profile projects Five or more years of Risk, Audit, and/or Regulatory experiencePrevious banking or relevant experience in highly regulated industries Excellent communication and problem-solving skillsEffective delivering in a fast paced, dynamic, and complex work environmentFoster healthy debate and challenge while establishing trustAbility to think broadly, inspire others to embrace continuous improvement, exhibit risk-based mindset, instill accountability, demonstrate a bias for results, and exercise sound judgmentMaster's degree in Risk, Finance, Business, or equivalent academic fieldTruist supports a diverse workforce and is an Equal Opportunity Employer who does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, gender, color, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status or other classification protected by law.
