Description We're looking for a general contractor who can lead our labor crew and subcontractors to success and get the job done right. You'll help our construction company plan and manage all new construction and remodeling projects for homeowners. You'll need to manage project costs and obtain all building permits. Our ideal candidate has at least 3 years of general contractor experience overseeing construction projects. Work on larger projects would be a bonus. Responsibilities •Adapt to the needs of the team and assist the project manager with other tasks when needed •Supervise all construction workers and subcontractors, inspect their work, and provide direction when needed to ensure the job is high-quality •Document the construction process in the daily logbook to update the project manager and homeowners on the progress •Incorporate client feedback during the building process and help the construction crew and subcontractors execute change orders •Prevent injuries and slowdowns by demanding complete adherence to health and safety standards on construction sites, and quickly report issues to the project manager if they do arise •Talk to clients to get a clear understanding of the project details, and work with the project manager to assist with detailed construction planning •Hire subcontractors and ensure they meet licensing requirements •Record a daily log of construction project progress and home improvement updates for the project manager and homeowner •Supervise all construction workers and subcontractors, inspect their work, and provide direction when needed to ensure the job is high quality •Create written proposals for homeowners that include a bid for their total cost estimate Qualifications •Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office •Physically capable of using heavy equipment and lifting at least 40 pounds •In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and the entire building process, including building codes, blueprints, permits, construction equipment, material resources, construction processes, and project management principles •At least 3 years of previous experience in construction •Finished training for OSHA 30 license and firm adherence to safety protocols on the job-site •At least one year of previous experience as a general contractor required, preferably 3 or more years •Stamina for operating heavy equipment and lifting 40 pounds or more •Must have a high school diploma, bachelor's degree is preferred for this role •Excellent leadership, time-management, organizational, and communication skills
