Position Title: Milpitas Extension Counselor

Position Status: Full Time

Salary Range: $102,128 to $140,193 Entry Level Annual Salary; Maximum Salary Potential $181,897.

Position Summary:This faculty position is a full-time 100% FTE grant funded (11 Months, August-June), non-tenured position through June 30, 2025 as San Jose City College Milpitas Extension Counselor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses in assigned discipline by communicating subject matter clearly and effectively.
  • Adapt methodologies for students with special needs and different learning styles.
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity in working with diverse backgrounds.
  • Participate in faculty responsibilities.
  • Attend and participate in department, division, and college meetings.
  • Meet record keeping obligations on time.
  • Maintain and provide current course syllabi.
  • Foster a professional work and learning environment.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    • Required Qualifications:

    Master's in counseling or equivalent. A bachelor's degree with a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is also acceptable.
