The purpose of the role of the General Foreman is to ensure the delivery of projects safely, will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating and supervising the work of all site operatives, coordinate operations and oversee workers at construction sites.
Responsibilities
Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans - Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
- Allocate general and daily responsibilities
- Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
- Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
- Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
- Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
- Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
- Resolve problems when they arise
- Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equal
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience within the road construction industry
- 2 to 3 years' experience of Foreman experience.
- Knowledge of graders and other heavy equipment.
- Knowledge road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements.
- Understanding of computerized controls and electronics.
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrate professionalism
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities effectively
- Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination
