General Laborer (Part-time On Call) - One Federal Solution : Job Details

One Federal Solution (OFS) seeks a General Laborer to join our Washington, DC team. As the General Laborer, you will perform tasks that require mainly physical abilities, effort, and specialized skills usually associated with commercial moving services. General Laborers are responsible for the following, which is an example but not an all-inclusive list and represents a sample of functions normally required:While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.Task and Duties:Loading and unloading trucks and other conveyances, including non-Contractor-provided vehicles.Moving supplies, materials, and equipment to/from designated locations using proper equipment, such as hand trucks, stevedores, dollies, straps, etc.Stacking material for storage.Moving and arranging heavy office furniture, equipment, appliances, antiques, etc.Properly securing all items being transported to ensure no shifting of loads, no damage to items, and compliance with all Department of Transportation requirements andPacking items in boxes for moving. Laborers shall take special care when packing and moving computer equipment, antiques, appliances, and fragile items.Qualifications and Skills Required:Must have a minimum of six (6) months' experience in labor/moving work.high school diploma/equivalency is required.Possess adequate reading and writing skills to follow simple written instructions.Knowledge and experience in the use of hand tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, chisels, and hammers, and shall be trained in the proper use of stevedoring equipment, dollies, hand-trucks, and jacks and shall be able to lift at least sixty (60) pounds.Ability to stand for long periods or lift heavy objects.May work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments, in uncomfortable or cramped positions, or on ladders.About One Federal SolutionOne Federal Solution (OFS) is an innovative Professional Services provider with over 17 years of experience supporting Defense and Civilian agencies.
