GENERAL MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT - CentraCare : Job Details

Job DescriptionFind your purpose providing a welcoming and functional space for our patients, staff and community as a Maintenance Assistant at CentraCare Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. The Maintenance Assistant is the one who gets to put up all the holiday decorations! You'll also change light bulbs, move furniture, repair doors, hang pictures and clocks, do patching and painting, unclog drains and other indoor maintenance work. You're also responsible for making sure our grounds are clean and safe; that means changing outdoor trash, picking up litter, and snow removal.As you can see, there's plenty of variety in this job, and it will feel good to know that you're helping patients, their families, and our people who care for them.Schedule:

• Full Time | 80 hours every two weeks
• Monday - Friday (7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

Pay & Benefits:

• $16.06 or more per hour, pay determined by experience.

• This is a Union position, and you will be required to join the AFSCME 3296 Union within 30 days from start.

Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience in Maintaining building and facilities -OR- 2 years of prior experience in general maintenance required
• A valid driver's license in good standing required.
• Technical training and/or general maintenance experience
• General knowledge of plumbing, door maintenance, and patching and painting
• There's some occasional heavy lifting, pushing and pulling involved in this work. You'll also need to be able to use a ladder safely, climb and operate maintenance equipment.
