A high school diploma or equivalent or trade school certificate Three (3) years documented experience in the particular trade or craft A valid Florida Commercial Driver's License or agrees to obtain within ninety (90) days Physical Requirements: Ability to do strenuous physical tasks during the performance of duties, to include lifting up to 100 pounds, crawling, kneeling, bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, etc. Satisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening ADDITIONAL DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Mastery of proper use and care of equipment, tools and materials related to the particular trade or craft PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs duties related to repairs of buildings, structures, equipment and fixtures Operates trucks and power equipment Performs various types of welding Assumes leadership responsibility as appropriate for this position Coordinates scheduling of work with supervisor Overhauls, troubleshoots, and repairs engines (1 - 6 cylinders), diesel engines, clutches, and hydraulic systems on generators, riding mowers, rotary mowers, reel mowers, blowers, compressors, cement saws, backhoes and other equipment Performs scheduled preventative maintenance by changing oil, lubricating, replacing worn parts, and adjusting all equipment noted Sharpens hand tools, mower reels, bed knives and rotary mower blades Maintains inventory and appropriate records Requisitions replacement parts; complete and maintain paperwork for the acquisition of replacement parts Acquire and maintain certification for the application of herbicides and pesticides to the exterior of buildings and grounds Assists other trade departments with daily tasks as needed Performs related work as assigned ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Other duties as assigned by supervising administrator TERM: Length of contract and number of hours worked are determined by specific allocation as approved annually during planning-budgeting process APPRAISAL: Performance will be appraised annually in accordance with School Board Policy PAY GRADE: According to the School Board of Highlands County Non-Instructional Bargaining Support Personnel Salary Schedule NON-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT Except as provided by law, The School Board of Highlands County shall not on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, marital status, disability, political or religious beliefs, national or ethnic origin, or genetic information, exclude individuals from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity in any employment condition or practice, or be denied equal access to school facilities if the organization is The Boy Scouts of America or other patriotic youth groups.
