Job DetailsJob Location Haverhill OH Petrochemical - Haverhill, OH Description The ALTIVIA Haverhill Petrochemical Complex, utilizes a job skill that is referred to as General Facilities Technician. As described below, individuals in this role will report to a designated manager within the maintenance organization (the Supervising Manager ) and may be assigned to work in other areas as directed by the Supervising Manager. A General Facilities Technician is expected to be capable of performing the following tasks, in addition to other tasks that the Supervising Manager may deem necessary and for which the individual is trained to perform:
- Assist the maintenance department with basic duties under the direction of a maintenance supervisor:
- Clean-up, painting, sweeping, washing, and general housekeeping duties;
- 5-S activity as directed and in accordance with defined 5-S processes;
- Inventory tracking and management (e.g. locating, relocating, restocking, tracking, and labeling parts, material and equipment);
- Operating a VAC truck or related equipment in accordance with a defined scope of work, and for which the technician has been given proper training;
- Basic maintenance activities not requiring code compliance, where the technician has been given specific work instructions, and has successfully completed the required training. Such as:
- Confined space entry watch;
- Removal of insulation (non-asbestos);
- Removal of manways;
- Removal of heads off of heat exchangers;
- Operation of tow motors;
- Operation of fork lifts;
- Material movement;
- Basic repair activities;
Qualifications In general, the utility work job requires the person to conduct physical types of work. The worker must be capable of the following:
- Lifting up to, but not to exceed 50 pounds.
- Climbing stairs (not to exceed any workplace OSHA criteria)
- Bending and squatting (not to exceed any workplace OSHA criteria)
- Repetitive motions (not to exceed any workplace OSHA criteria)
- Driving motor vehicles, including driving on public highways.
- Ability to push or pull (not to exceed any workplace OSHA criteria)
- Donning of respirators including ambient and supplied air types of respirators.
