GENERAL MANAGER – Hilton Garden Inn Ridgefield Park, New Jersey

Directly responsible for the overall financial, profitability, safety, maintenance, positive culture and brand compliance of the hotel.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Minimum of 2 years Hotel General Management Experience
  • Brand Experience with Hilton in general
  • Associates Degree or higher degree preferred but not required
  • JOB ESSENTIALS

    Work together with Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions LLC ownership/management company team and Hilton Garden Inn Ridgefield Park, New Jersey management team and employees to provide superior service, meeting and exceeding Hilton Garden Inn branding standards and achieving company goals and objectives.

    • Strive to achieve all budgeted numbers.
    • Daily involvement in sales and revenue management.
    • Assist sales team in closing business.
    • Ensure consistent positive RevPAR Index.
    • Focus efforts towards building workplace culture and morale.
    • Lead by example, build a solid culture and minimize team member turnover.
    • Attend departmental stand-up meetings and hold one-on-ones with hotel staff.
    • Involvement in the community; join one organization (CVB, chamber, etc.).
    • Ensure solid preventative maintenance programs are in place for the entire hotel and equipment.
    • Ensure passing of all brand training and QA inspections.
    • Oversee management to ensure team members are certified in all applicable state and required safety certifications (CPR, etc.).
    • Ensure everyone is trained on emergency procedures and regular safety inspections for each department.
    • Use company resources effectively, control expenditures, and contribute cost reduction ideas.
    • Drive results of the Balanced Scorecard.
    • Monitor and drive guest satisfaction scores for the hotel.
    • Ensure managers complete performance reviews on time.
    • Assist with training and development of department heads.
    • Complete monthly report or other requested reports.
    • Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and basic labor laws.
    • Command of the English language both written and verbal.

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

    Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
