OVERVIEW:

Our client is seeking an experienced General Manager - Food & Nutrition to lead daily operations for their food team at a Medical Facility located in Washington, DC.

This is a not-for-profit healthcare facility dedicated to caring for people in the Maryland and Washington, D.C., region, while advancing the practice of medicine through education, innovation, and research. This is a 900-bed medical facility where the GM leads the entire Food & Nutrition operations including patient meal services, retail, doctors lounge, and catering.

The ideal candidate will have strong operations, finance, patient, retail, and client relations experience along with a true commitment to nursing relationships, staff development, engagement, and an understanding of regulatory compliance in the DC area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to an account, may have multiple clients and/or satellite locations.
  • Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing teams for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day-to-day operations.
  • Directs all contract services.
  • Oversees management/administrative team who are responsible for special functions, cash control, and payroll.

MUST HAVE:

  • 5 years of Functional & Management experience.
  • Experience in food service management.
  • General Manager Food & Nutrition leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience managing in a union environment.
  • Experience in client relationship and strong financial acumen.
  • Experience in managing a team who are responsible for special functions, cash control, and payroll.
  • Experience in Financial management.
  • Experience in Delivering high-quality food service.
