Sunwise Auto Group is looking for an experienced Automotive General Manager to join our growing and expanding team within our dealership group. Our stores include BMW Concord, Audi Concord, Weatherford BMW/MINI of Berkeley, BMW of San Rafael, and Marin Subaru in San Rafael.

The Automotive General Manager assumes responsibility and is accountable for customer retention and the profitability of each department in the dealership on behalf of the dealer. Fulfills responsibility using sound business management practices. Plans, motivates and coordinates the activities of the management team.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for overall facility operation, function, and appearance.
  • Hires, trains and motivates all dealership department managers.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify business growth opportunities.
  • Meets with managers individually to develop monthly and annual goals and objectives, and to review actual performance.
  • Monitors the daily operating control (DOC), recommending improved courses of action where necessary.
  • Develops and maintains a good working relationship with lending institutions and manufacturer personnel.
  • Communicates management policies and procedures to all employees and ensures that they are understood and followed.
  • Provides enthusiastic leadership to help shape employees' attitudes and build morale.
  • Holds regularly scheduled managers meetings to ensure that every department is operating efficiently and profitably.
  • Reviews all requests for training, approves those which are appropriate and consistent with the dealership's goals for professional/technical ability and advancement, and monitors their effectiveness.
  • Reviews and approves compensation plans for all employees.
  • Develops merchandising strategies and assists in creating effective, cost-efficient advertising programs.
  • Resolves any customer complaints that department managers are unable to rectify.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years progressive management experience in dealership operations or equivalent.
  • Consistent track record of successfully meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Extensive knowledge in dealer operations
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Goal-oriented, friendly personality, professional, and dependable
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Valid driver's license & clean driving record
COMPENSATION: The General Manager Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Salary Compensation of between $7,500.00 and $15,000.00. The position may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit.
  • Annual Pay Range: $180,000 - $500,000. This position pays salary plus monthly bonus. Lots of income potential, strong & loyal customer base!
