SUMMARY: The General Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing all departments and aspects of the Hotel. S/He will promote a safe and welcoming working environment to achieve maximum guest satisfaction and to grow the operational efficiency of the hotel.General Manager must work weekends and holidays - typical schedule: Wednesday to Sunday or Thursday to Monday.Essential Job Functions:Direct Revenue Management for the hotel and work closely with its property support team.Grow the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the hotel.Develop and direct a team to make the hotel successful.Build relationships with local tourism organizations, local businesses, and general managers.Utilize company reporting systems to include:Daily/weekly/monthly activitiesTime clock proceduresLabor performance reportsAccounts payableForecastingAdminister various human resources processes such as orientation and training, recruitment and selection, recognition and reward programs, safety management, performance evaluations.Understand and uphold operational standards and guest satisfaction ratings.Oversee Housekeeping and Maintenance to ensure efficient turnover of guestrooms.Be hands-on with housekeeping and maintenance including room inspections, assisting on heavy turnover days and training new staff.Provide support to front desk on heavy arrivals or departure days.Project Management: Oversee renovation projections, assembling of guestrooms and miscellaneous property projects.Oversee all financial practices.Adhere to and communicate budget requirements and restrictions.Control all operational and departmental expenses.Maintain ongoing communication with all sales staff.Utilize web marketing initiatives and internet distribution channels.Develop and implement a Business Plan.Continuously source new business streams.Attend sales calls with sales team and initiate and maintain relationships with key guests and accounts.Adhere to hotel requirements for guest/employee accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.Experience and EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.Experience handling operations of branded or unbranded hotels.Minimum six years of hotel experience.Familiarization with hospitality industry success measures and strategies for product positioning.Ability to carry oneself in a mature, professional and responsible manner at all times.Service-minded and team-oriented.Computer and Microsoft Office skills.Strong attention to detail and hospitality knowledge.Results-oriented writing techniques and strategies for correspondence.Ability to maximize impact, maintain interest, and establish a rapport with an audience while conveying information.Ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage time and resources.Willingness and ability to promote a positive team member culture and core values.Fluency in other languages beneficial.Job RequirementsMust be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.Must be able to read, write, and speak English.Must have exceptional communication skills.Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.Must be detail-oriented and work well under pressure.Must be professional in appearance and demeanor.Ability to write effective business communications.Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with employees.Ability to effectively express oneself and speak extemporaneously on a variety of subjects with poise and confidence.Strong creative capabilities, necessary for design of skill-based and awareness-based training programs and instructional materials.Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.Ability to multi-task, manage interruptions, establish work priorities, handle stress, and effectively function in a fast-paced environment.Possess strong motivational, organizational, and verbal communication skills.Job Type: Full-timePay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person#J-18808-Ljbffr
