OVERVIEW
The General Manager is responsible for all daily and specific task-related operational functions within our OTC (Over The Counter) fulfillment and distribution center. As a General Manager, you will be a pillar of operating excellence, safety, and team engagement to drive optimized client results. You will be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of processes, procedures, controls, and staffing to achieve accurate and timely product movement. As a GM at NationsBenefits, you are responsible for the financial, operational, people and process, and service-related objectives. The ideal candidate is a strategic, innovative, and collaborative leader with the ability to analyze broad and complex issues and formulate and execute strategies to ensure that deadlines and priorities are met and exceeded.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILIES
- Provide leadership support to the entire distribution center (DC) team
- Drive operational excellence by winning through systems, processes, and people
- Focus on data analytics and reporting to evaluate areas of excellence and opportunities.
- Motivate, mentor, and manage team to meet targeted goals
- Safety and Employee Champion, focus on keeping Safety as our #1 goal.
- Collaborate with department leaders to drive business initiatives, meet SLA Agreements, and manage talent and labor.
- Plan and forecast talent needs to ensure production requirements to account for seasonality changes and inventory needs
- Develop, execute, and maintain a rigorous Safety program to champion safe working conditions, safe driving procedures, and safe operation of equipment
- Establish and enforce operational policies to ensure accurate shipment of merchandise to members
- Coach, train, develop, and empower the managerial team
- Drive high-quality standards, including inventory control, shrink reduction, operational audits, and QA.
- Adherence to compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations affecting the Company
- Performing all other duties and responsibilities as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business or Logistics or equivalent experience
- 5 – 10+ years of warehouse management experience, including leading and developing teams directly.
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays as needed.
- Senior presence with a thoughtful, articulate communication style. Adept at communicating up and down and at pivoting approach depending on the audience's needs.
- A confident decision-maker who uses data, job experience, and team collaboration to make quality decisions for the business.
- Proven ability as a passionate people-centric leader who can effectively drive results in a rapidly growing company.
- Labor management experience with a focus on motivating and engaging large teams
- Previous experience in a continuous improvement-based environment
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and WMS applications
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills
- Demonstrated experience with Excel, Power BI, and Tableau dashboards and reporting.
- Ability to analyze operational/financial data to make good decisions.
