Job Summary

Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead and oversee operations for a well established distribution and sales organization. The General Manager will be responsible for driving growth, optimizing operations, and ensuring overall business success. This position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and exceptional business acumen to achieve company objectives while maintaining a customer-focused culture.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business goals, including sales growth, market expansion, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor industry trends and market conditions to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Establish and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.

Operational Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the organization, including distribution, sales, logistics, and customer service.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between departments to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Implement systems and processes to improve operational performance and minimize costs.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to managers and employees.
  • Recruit and retain top talent to support business growth and succession planning.

Sales and Customer Relations

  • Drive sales strategies to increase revenue and market share.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and business partners.
  • Address customer concerns and ensure the delivery of excellent service.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and safety standards.
  • Mitigate risks by implementing robust policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain the organization's assets and resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in a senior leadership role, preferably in distribution, sales, or supply chain management.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, including budgeting, P&L statements, and cost control.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth, manage change, and achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with CRM or ERP software systems.
