Job Description :

The General Manager will oversee the company's day-to-day activities and ensure the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively. The GM will be responsible for designing and implementing policies to promote the company culture and vision while overseeing operations to keep the business on track.

What you will do:

  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards for evaluating the company's efficiency and effectiveness and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with key company personnel to set reasonable sales goals.
  • Collaborate with key company personnel to set performance standards. Standards may be based on financial and operational goals as well as required compliance with internal, local, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Implement policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
  • Oversee Operations and Sales departments, ensuring each reaches goals set by departmental and company leadership.
  • Plan, implement, monitor, and forecast budgets to achieve financial objectives.
  • Communicate and explain new directives, policies, or procedures to managers. For major policy changes, meet with the entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
  • Improve customer service and satisfaction by maintaining and developing positive relationships with existing and prospective customers, while demonstrating excellent customer service, and setting an example for other employees.
  • Spearheaded cross-functional collaboration between operations, sales, technology, and customer service teams to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and optimize cost-effective business processes.
  • Collaborate with managers/supervisors to obtain data required for planning activities, including new commitments, status of work in progress, and problems encountered.
  • Project a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, engineering or related field; and/or Master's License for Skilled Trades (Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical) preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in a GM or higher-level position managing one or more major business functions (e.g., operations, business development, etc.)
  • 10 years of comprehensive knowledge of industry and industry-related trends and forecasts, i.e., skilled trades, underground utilities, etc.
  • Experience in estimating and project management.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced skilled trades environment.
  • Familiarity with mergers and acquisitions is preferred.
