Job Description :

This is a key leadership position overseeing a successful automotive component manufacturing plant in the San Antonio, Texas area. The Plant General Manager will lead the production of complex automotive parts, fostering a productive and effective work environment focused on quality and safety best practices. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production of high-quality products that meet the company's short- and long-term business goals.
  • Cultivate a positive work environment emphasizing compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Engage and motivate management and team members to adhere to company objectives related to quality, safety, environmental responsibility, and information security.
  • Evaluate and monitor operations to ensure they meet production and regulatory standards, recommending corrective actions to achieve company operational goals.
  • Manage the manufacturing process of automotive components, ensuring they meet 100% of the company's quality standards.
  • Lead manufacturing projects and guide team members in adhering to company environmental, health, and safety standards, including cleanliness, ergonomics, standard operating procedures, equipment maintenance and inspections, temperature, noise, and overall safe working conditions.
  • Create a fair and productive work environment based on trust and respect for all team members, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources, providing information to help create and maintain a work environment that attracts, motivates, and retains high-quality team members.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor operational financial goals, including manufacturing budgets, equipment, inventory, assets, profit, delivery, cost, scrap, manpower, and product value.
  • Required Qualifications / Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a company with over 100 employees.
  • Ability to develop standard operating procedures and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Knowledge of the automotive manufacturing industry, total quality management systems, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a strong understanding of servant leadership concepts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in company direction.
  • Desired Skills / Characteristics:

    • Proven leadership track record and experience leading complex teams.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Experience in a cross-cultural work environment.
    • Experience with automated assembly, robotics, or machining processes.
    • Manufacturing leadership experience in the automotive industry.

    Working / Physical Conditions:

    • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
    • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods while monitoring processes and interacting with staff.
    • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as directed.
    • Ability to travel for extended periods (up to 2 months) for business and training purposes.
