Job Title: General Manager, Market Operations Location: Onsite - Auburn, MAEmployee Type: Full Time, Exempt Compensation: $108,000 Annually + Full Benefit Package and Bonus Opportunity

The General Manager, Market Operations is responsible for a 7 day-a-week operation, including, but not limited to, market operating costs, vehicle inventory control and reconciliation, vehicle logistics, member experience, vehicle service and repair, and vehicle infleeting and defleeting. A market for Flexcar may be a stand-alone city, or include multiple cities. The role oversees all operations for a variable-sized fleet and takes ownership of all site activities and processes.

What you'll do:

  • Fiscally responsible management of operations P&L for all locations within your market including the ability to propose ways to increase site profitability.
  • Total ownership of all site operations metrics, including available inventory, unavailable inventory, service inventory, inventory dwell time, registration hold, and other relevant metrics.
  • On-time delivery for all customer orders in showroom-quality condition.
  • Prioritizes needs of the business and rolls up their sleeves when needed to get the job done.
  • Responsible for keeping market staffed appropriately to fulfill business demand and remain within budget guidelines.
  • Creates business cases to justify site expenses and/or services.
  • Pivots quickly to changing business demands.
  • Build relationships with vendors to drive costs down and improve turnaround times.
  • Pilot and own new initiatives and provide constructive feedback to leadership team.
  • Build reports to analyze and review site metrics with team and create action plans to bridge any gaps.
  • Provide feedback to both managers and front-line team members regularly, both positive and developmental in both a formal and informal setting.
  • Entrepreneurial ownership, driven by a sense of urgency, with the ability to prioritize and balance critical workstreams.

What Drives Success for This Role:

  • 7-10 years of operations management background, preferably in vehicle operations/service.
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or similar fields preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of 6S and Gemba methodology.
  • Understanding of basic EH&S practices, and how to drive/implement them in a site.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely within a timely manner in a high visibility role to all levels of leadership.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams such as facilities, real estate, and product teams to drive site efficiency and cost effective.
  • Prior P&L ownership experience preferred.
  • Ability to cover all hours of the business, including evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays is required.
  • Willingness to work outdoors (weather and other conditions vary).
  • Ability to carry tools and equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Travel to all locations within market as business needs dictate.
