**General Manager of Marketplace**

We're assembling a world-class global team, our headcount has grown to over 120 over the course of the last year across London, Lisbon and NY offices, with stratospheric growth and exciting product releases en route!

**About the role**

As the General Manager (GM) of Marketplace you will be the ultimate person responsible for the success of Reachdesks curated marketplace. Success will depend on your ability to develop a strategy, build a team, exert influence, and ultimately execute against that strategy. The Reachdesk marketplace is a key differentiating factor for the company and core asset for the business. Through the marketplace our users can select a wide variety of high quality, curated gifts that they can customize with a name, note, and/or logo. Once a user submits their order, the vendor is alert immediately, shortening time to value and maximizing the moment.

As General Manager of Marketplace, you will manage a team capable of identifying, signing up and managing the vendors. You will be responsible for expanding the catalog into new vertical and new geographies. You will be responsible for the marketplace program from start to finish, including establishing processes, incentives, KPIs, and product to surprise and delight customers. Most importantly, you will be responsible for creating value for both our customers, vendors, and the company. A successful marketplace will maximize user adoption, retention, and overall customer lifetime value while also creating an additional revenue stream for the company.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of success in partnerships and in leading a team. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are solutions-oriented, and have a passion for startups and growing a business in a new market. This role will contribute as a key member of the operations leadership team to drive the strategy around our marketplace offering.

**Key responsibilities include the following:**

* Develop a cohesive strategy to attract, signup and retain high quality vendors across the world. Strategy should include product roadmap, marketing plan and team expansion.

* Build a partner program that enables us to scale our network of marketplace (drop-ship and electronic gift) vendors globally ensuring our customers have access to high quality, customized gifting options across the world.

* Drive strategy to increase visibility of the Reachdesk marketplace across the industry, our customer base, and within the company

* Create GTM plan for going into new verticals and new markets to support our ever expanding customer base

* Inspire, attract, and manage a team of high performing marketplace managers - develop, lead and coach with a strong focus on team and individual development, organizational metrics and scorecard results

* General Manager along with their team should be able to

+ Source and launching marketplace vendors

+ Manage the contracts and relationships with partners (initial contract, periodic contract review/evolution, renewal/renegotiation, end of life)

+ Run demos and training for our marketplace partners.

+ Build and maintaining excellent relationships with customers and marketplace vendors

+ Resolve logistical issues with our vendors

+ Support the Finance function with order and invoice reconciliation

+ Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

* Work closely with key stakeholders across our organization and supply chain to ensure everything runs efficiently and smoothly with our partners.

* Ensure our gift delivery experience exceeds our standards for quality and timeliness

* Monitoring and advising on any issues which present risks or opportunities to the organization

* Partner with CS, Sales and Product leadership to deliver a quarterly product roadmap, growth goals, and OKRs focused around the marketplace

* Serve as the voice of our marketplace vendors within the company

**About you**

* 8+ years of operations scaling and management experience ideally in a high-growth / start-up environment.

* At least 5+ years experience in Sales and Partnerships

* Experience building a partnership program from the ground up or scaling it 5x+

* Experience managing a team, ideally in a sales or partnership capacity

* Comfortability with data analysis skills, including MS Excel skills

* Experience defining, refining, and bringing to market product improvements

* In depth knowledge of logistics to include marketplace drop-ship models.

* Demonstrable experience in building partnership relationships within a B2B multi-vendor marketplace environment

* Have superb communication (both written and verbal), attention to detail and organizational skills

**Bonus:**

* You have Experience with companies building and scaling enterprise software (e.g. business intelligence, marketing automation, b2b)

* You have experience in high-touch logistics environments (e.g. retail or eCommerce)

* You have developed and managed relationships with gifting partners

* Youre looking to reduce our carbon footprint as we develop our logistics and marketplace network
