General Production Labor - Harvest

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The general production worker on the Harvest Floor is responsible for following procedures to humanely slaughter and process animals. Responsible for achieving goals set by Harvest Supervisor online speed and quality of work. Must ensure Harvest Floor operations run safely, smoothly, efficiently, cleanly, humanely, always remain in compliance and contribute to team effort.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The ideal candidate will adhere to safe working procedures while assisting with the beef slaughter processes which may include:

• Unloading and segregating live animals in a humane manner and prepare for entering Harvest Floor
• Stunning animals in a humane way to enter the Harvest Floor
• Hide Removal using knives, handsaws, and other powered equipment
• Harvesting blood on the Harvest Floor
• Trimming of carcasses free of contaminates
• Harvest of all offal products
• Operate scales
• Ensure efficiency and appropriate production line speed
• Adhere to Humane Handling, Sanitary Dressing, Safe Practices, and all aspects of regulatory compliance.

Physical requirements and environment:

• Stand for long periods of time performing physical and repetitive line work
• Gripping, grasping, and lifting or pushing up to 50 pounds is required
• Must be able to withstand hot temperatures and work in a wet, humid environment

Full time hourly position:

• 8 to 12 hours per day
• Overtime and some weekend work required

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred Not Required
