PWT I-joists are top-performing, I shaped engineered wood products that effortlessly meet any performance standard. With top and bottom flanges made of durable laminated veneer lumber (LVL) or solid sawn, and webs constructed with OSB, these joists resist bending and provide outstanding shear resistance. PWT I-joists are a more flexible, stable, and versatile alternative to open web floor trusses or standard lumber.Employees at Pacific Woodtech feel good knowing that the products they make help to reduce our carbon footprint. Engineered wood products (EWP) produced by Pacific Woodtech more efficiently uses raw materials from logs that are sourced from sustainably harvested timberlands. Since EWP is stronger than solid lumber, less material is required in construction.What the jobs are: The positions that we have available are in our Flange Line and I Line-Regrade Departments.The Flange Line is where scanner graded boards are cut ranging from 8' - 20' feet then ran through finger joints for glue application. The board is then ran through the cure chamber creating a flange. The flange is sent to the fly saw to create lengths ranging from 36' to 72' feet units. Units are then banded and sent to the yard for I-Line Department to run.I-Line Regrade is where the packaging of the finished beams occurs. The beams are 8' to 60 ' feet long units. They are then banded and wrapped with PWT paper wrap.You will be an integral member of the team in operating machinery, manually feeding wood to the line, grading wood for quality, and packaging units all the while maintaining a safe and effective work environment. Upon completion of initial training, successful candidates will have opportunities to grow into machine operator roles.Job Requirements:* Provide relief in operations jobs for breaks, vacations, and other absences.* Safely operate equipment and maintain good housekeeping (general and equipment) of assigned areas.* Accurately sort product (various sizes and series).* Actively participate in EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) programs.* Participate in improvement projects.* Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:* Accountability and attention to detail* Good time management and problem-solving abilities.* Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.* Demonstrated mechanical ability.* Willing to be cross trained to perform various operations positions.Experience:* GED/ Highschool diploma or Equivalent required* Manufacturing experience required
