Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Service General Manager to lead our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5+ years of experience in Service Management within adjacent industries such as HVAC, electric, or utilities. This role requires a proven track record of growing a business, independent thinking, and a results-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Lead by example, managing a team of approximately 20 customer service representatives and field service technicians.
- Business Growth: Demonstrate a proven ability to grow a business, identifying and developing new growth opportunities.
- Team Development: Master at hiring, training, and motivating a team. Responsible for hiring customer service representatives and field service technicians.
- Culture Building: Foster and maintain a winning culture within the team.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers via phone, email, and in the showroom.
- Operational Oversight: Ensure appropriate parts are ordered, vehicles are maintained, and equipment needs are met.
- Financial Management: Ensure timely collection of payments and identify the best areas for profit.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Open the shop and greet service technicians.
- Review new work orders and ensure technicians understand their tasks.
- Communicate effectively with customer service staff.
- Provide leadership and direction to field and service staff.
- Provide feedback and training to technicians.
- Develop growth opportunities for new accounts.
Qualifications:
- 2-5+ years of experience in Service Management within HVAC, electric, or utilities.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel.
- Proven track record of business growth.
- Experience in hiring, training, and motivating a team.
- Ability to build and maintain a winning culture.
- Willingness to go above and beyond for the team and company.
