POSITION OVERVIEW:
GSS works closely with CM/PM to effectively manage and train Superintendents. GSS works side by side to mentor, manage, and train new and current superintendents. This includes assisting the Superintendents' assimilation into the RSVC culture driven by its core ethos, E.P.A..
The GSS is to recognize areas of improvement needed on an individual superintendent basis and implement training plans for his team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Effectively Handles all Scheduling for Superintendents daily by using Workforce Planning
• Sets standards for how updates go out to project managers
• Develop superintendents in MPP for Scheduling
• Tracks/Maintains all safety certs for supers, if any are needed to get superintendents up to date on certs
• Develop trust and teamwork with all superintendents
• Understanding each project schedule and health. Keeps CM/PM in the know when project health is in the decline based on jobsite visits
• Performs weekly safety meetings audits for each superintendent
• Safety Driver: Is responsible for safety concerns on All projects
• Drives job site supers to follow job inspection reports
• Work alongside safety director Desi Lora to confirm all meetings are being recorded and sent in accurately to [email protected]
• Keep the site and Super compliant with SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan)
• Ensure the Super is working the city requirements for recycling programs
• Making sure the superintendents has a grasp on the staging area (leaking equipment, trash, customer supplied product or merchandise)
• Sending out messages to the superintendents to ensure the site has no open roof penetrations
Initiate job posting(s) with HR as additional positions are needed
• Interview and hire superintendents to fill the needed openings
• Document corrective, disciplinary actions and written warnings
• Initiate and manage performance improvement plans if needed
• Initiate and conduct annual Performance Reviews with Superintendent and Management
• Participate in discussions with management regarding wage increases
• Assist HR in placement of modified duty needs and return to work for injured employees
GENEERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree or Certification in Construction Management
• Or 10 years construction field experience and minimum of 5 years working experience as a Superintendent on commercial projects
• Intermediate understanding of general/commercial construction techniques, requirements, and common methods related to commercial construction
• OSHA 10 certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be customer service oriented
• Ability to meet the Company attendance and punctuality standards with jobsite/office presence
• Evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently
• Ability to use common power and hand tools
• Assurance of proactively eliminating safety risks, and ability to effectively manage and resolve incidents that may arise on the jobsite if they occu
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Bending/kneeling/lifting/climbing
• Push/pull objects > 100 pounds (objects, equipment, etc.)
• Lift >50 pounds (trash, equipment, supplies, etc.)
• Materials may need to be placed onto and removed from vehicles trucks/flatbeds/etc.

• Ability to work hours as a Full Time Employee (Morning or Evening shifts), and potential for overtime/weekend availability
