Generator Field Service Technician- St. Louis, MO / Kansas City, MO /Dallas, TX

We seek a highly motivated, responsible candidate with a strong Power Generation background.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive Military training and experience in Power Generation or Power Production, Diesel and Gas Turbine Generators, along with 2-3 years of commercial/industrial experience outside of the military.

Qualified Military candidates can come from the following specialties/MOS:

• Army- Advanced 12P, 91D, Prime power.

• USMC 1142/1141 MOS.

• Air Force - Power Production or Aerospace Equipment Air Force

• Navy Engineman, Submarine MMs

Job Duties

• Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all makes of generators

• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all components of the generator, engine, and switch gear

• Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department, and customers

• Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion

• Meet requirements for certifications

Desired Skills/Qualities

• Servicing, repairing, and installing high-quality brand rental power generation equipment and services

• Extensive background with Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler or related brands essential.

• Automatic Transfer Switch experience desired

• Ability to perform Load Testing or Load Banking testing on-site

• Have the ability to design, prepare, and install generators on-site

• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on generators that are used in a variety of industries

• Prior experience and formal training in a variety of electrical and diesel generators, ranging from lSkW to 300mW

• A good driving record is required

• The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• A minimum of 3 years of experience working with industrial power generation sets

• Experience with diesel and natural gas engines, electrical switchgear, and automatic transfer switches

• Must have your own set of general tools

• Be able to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs

• Use computers for web-based training and work order system

• Technical degree or certification a plus

• Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions

• Clean driving record and the ability to pass a D.O.T. Physical
