Global Human Resources Director - Manufacturing

Pacific International have partnered with a global leader in chemical manufacturing regarding an exclusive search for a Global Director of Human Resources.

The organization is looking for a leader who will partner with the global leadership team as well as being proactive in partnering with shop floor employees and understanding the pulse of the floor. There are many sites that have unions in place, as well as operations being highly complex. Therefore a professional with many years in labour relations and understanding the challenges of complex operations will be critical.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead HR teams to implement initiatives and programs and provide HR service for anything manufacturing related, including: labor relations, recruiting & staffing, employee relations, engagement & retention, performance management, employee development and training, organizational effectiveness, compensation, rewards and recognition, succession planning, health & welfare benefits, regulatory and company compliance, and Affirmative Action/EEO compliance.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to advance purpose-driven, inclusive, equitable, productive culture and drive diversity.
  • Lead the labor relations strategy for the business and be the key counsel for the manufacturing teams on labor relations.
  • Drive improvement in employee engagement, experience and morale.
  • Analyze, Monitor, gain insights and create key HR metrics. Hold teams accountable to these metrics.
  • With a continuous improvement mindset, support/facilitate organizational change initiatives.

Requirements and Skills

  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably with a Master's or MBA.
  • 10 years in HR, specifically in manufacturing with a minimum of five in leadership.
  • 5+ years direct experience in Labor Relations.
  • Proven experience negotiating CBAs and being at the bargaining table.
  • Strong Collaboration, consultative, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Continuous Improvement certification is a strong plus.
