We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Global Resource Capacity Manager to lead our resource planning efforts in a fast-paced, growing SaaS professional services environment. This role is critical in moving the organization from a primarily manual resource management process to a more structured and forward-thinking model. You will be responsible for driving long-term resource planning, ensuring the right mix of resources is available to meet both current and future demand, while also implementing efficient processes to optimize resource allocation and team utilization.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- Strategic Resource Planning: Lead the development and implementation of a long-term resource planning strategy to ensure sufficient capacity for current and future projects, looking 4+ quarters ahead. Collaborate with leadership to anticipate future demand and align resource strategies with organizational goals and business growth. Scale our resource management processes that enhance visibility and predictability across teams.
- Resource Allocation & Forecasting: Oversee the allocation of resources across multiple ongoing and upcoming projects, with a focus on proactive planning. Maintain accurate forecasting of resource capacity, including hiring needs, skill gaps, and potential risks. Oversee bench time management and resolution, working to find other billable tasks or training opportunities for team members. Understand any resource contention issues and work with leadership to resolve them with a customer success mindset. Partner with HR and finance teams to align resource needs with recruitment pipelines, ensuring the organization is prepared for peak demand periods.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Provide strong leadership, mentoring, and guidance to teams on how to evolve resource management best practices. Serve as a key advisor to senior management, providing data-driven insights on resource availability, capacity constraints, and utilization trends. Engage with project managers, delivery teams, and department heads to ensure alignment of resources with project timelines and client expectations.
- Process Improvement & Tool Implementation: Identify and lead initiatives to automate resource management processes, transitioning from manual systems to technology-driven solutions. Evaluate and implement resource management tools and systems that streamline capacity planning and utilization tracking. Develop and manage dashboards and reports to provide real-time insights into resource allocation, availability, and utilization.
- Utilization Management: Track and report on resource utilization, ensuring that teams are operating at optimal efficiency while balancing workloads to avoid burnout. Develop key performance metrics for resource management, ensuring transparency in reporting to leadership and stakeholders.
- Capacity & Skills Development: Analyze and identify skill gaps within the current team, and work with leadership to develop upskilling and training plans. Partner with HR to proactively forecast and recruit for anticipated skills and resource gaps over the coming quarters.
THE SKILL SET
- 7+ years of experience in resource management, capacity & demand planning, or project management, with a focus on professional services or SaaS organizations.
- Proven experience in leading resource management efforts in environments with limited tools or manual processes, and a track record of implementing scalable solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to plan resources across long-term horizons (4+ quarters) in high-growth, dynamic environments.
- Strong leadership and change management skills, with the ability to influence and drive process improvements in manual or evolving environments.
- Experience mentoring teams and developing a structured approach to resource management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance short-term needs with long-term strategic planning.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience implementing resource management tools (e.g. OpenAir, NetSuite, Microsoft BI, Smartsheets).
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with senior leaders and project teams alike.

The national minimum salary is $111,000 a year + bonus and benefits. The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
