We steward precious resources by finding more sustainable solutions.Job SummaryThe Global Safety Director is responsible for the implementation and oversight of Health, Safety & Security systems supporting the organization. The Global Safety Director provides leadership for the strategy and implementation of systems that support and sustain a robust culture of safety with the goals of minimizing risk and eliminating occupational injuries and illnesses.Responsibilities & QualificationsJob Responsibilities:
  • Develop a strategic business plan aligned with corporate goals and objectives. Work with all regions and brands to establish and communicate objectives based on the business plan.
  • Champion a culture of safety excellence at all levels of the organization, emphasizing best practices and global standards.
  • Identify and report on threats and opportunities impacting business objectives based on trends derived from data, conversations and observations.
  • Oversee the management and reporting of safety performance for clients and as needed for external certifying bodies.
  • Manage global rollout of Safety Management System improvements employing a rapid deployment and continuous improvement approach.
  • Complete gap analysis on current corporate and regional programs against legislative requirements and international standards. Develop a roadmap to update safety programs to fill gaps.
  • Develop business case to support improvements to safety programs to meet international ISO standards where relevant to the business.
  • Conduct periodic external safety audits for non-ISO certified facilities and develop corrective action plan to address findings.
  • Provide high level coaching and technical expertise to senior executives, regional and sector leadership pertaining to safety concepts and practices in alignment with our corporate values.
  • Establish global safety targets and supporting metrics for the organization.
  • Oversee the development, approval and implementation of corporate emergency/pandemic response plans.
  • Establish and lead a Safety and Security Steering Committee to advise and support safety programs.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or other related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10+ years relevant safety experience that includes management system implementation and safety software implementation at a senior leadership level.
  • Strategic thinker with good communication and facilitation skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients' toughest challenges.
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
