The Operations Manager is accountable for the safe, responsible, and effective management of Golden Sunlight Mine. This position is responsible for all aspects of the operation leading to the delivery of the organization's overall goals, as well as external stakeholder management. This will include, but not be limited to, mining and processing operations, equipment maintenance, technical services, planning and budgeting, cost control, sustaining capital project management, and reclamation and closure activities.

Responsibilities:

* Lead the site to develop and instill a safety culture that creates a safe work environment, where employees are enabled to identify risks and institute fatal risk controls, motivated to utilize their responsibility to stop unsafe work, and support other team members on the Journey to Zero to Harm Lead the execution of Barrick Gold North America's Health, Safety and Environmental plans at site

* Ensure site activities are conducted per all federal and state HSE regulations. Interface with federal and state regulatory agencies as required.

* Develop and lead the safe and successful execution of the site operational and financial budget, as well as reclamation and closure activities

* Set and manage clear production key performance indicators and hold the team accountable to deliver against these targets.

* Ensure that maintenance activities, planning, and scheduling are fully coordinated to achieve targets, optimize the frequency and scope of planned shutdown events, and improve the overall reliability of the plant

* Identify and drive continuous improvement actions across all facets of the business - safety, environmental, operational, financial, people, community relations, etc.

* Ensure the planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing of all activities are conducted appropriately to specific timelines in a manner consistent with the values and DNA of Barrick

* Lead the site team in personnel development and training. Ensure that the team members remain challenged and continuously grow and improve performance.

* Interface frequently and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization through engagement at line out meetings, critical control verifications, site inspections, weekly/monthly/quarterly performance reviews, and site visits.

* Prepare and deliver regular and ad-doc reporting requirements accurately and timeously.

* Identify risks and potential solutions, as well as raise appropriate awareness within the organization for additional input to ensure optimal resolution/mitigation

* Represent the site and company as a valued member within our local host communities, including maintaining and overseeing Barrick's local community development committee

* Relentlessly hold the team to account to ensure that deliverables consistently reach or exceed targets

* Drive a productive and sustainable business thereby driving an effective work culture

* Ensure appropriate policies, controls, and systems are in place and applied to adequately manage operational and environmental risk

* Ensure Management Operating Systems support broader business objectives

* Other responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher in mine engineering, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, or another related field is required

* A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressive operational/management positions, of which at least two (2) years in Process operations

* Proven success and demonstrated history of leading a strong culture of safety

* The ability to establish, communicate and measure aggressive results regarding safety, productivity, continuous improvement, and sound business practices

* Demonstrated ability to build and develop a dedicated team and positive working relationships with a diverse workforce

* Excellent people skills (coaching & mentoring) directed towards developing and empowering teams and individuals

* Ability to prepare and present reports to all levels of the organization in an accurate and fit-for-purpose format

* Proven success in implementing and managing change processes

* An exemplary safety, performance, and attendance record

* Initiative-taking focus on talent assessment and career development for staff

* Demonstrated ability to design, implement and control internal and external projects

* Sound business judgment and knowledge of financial and accounting functions together with a solid understanding of what drives profitability, cash flow and costs

* Some travel and extended hours may be required

* Excellent organizational, time management and office management skills

* Previous experience working in mines with comparable size and technical scope to those of Golden Sunlight is preferred
