GOLF COURSE TECHNICIAN

Summary: Under supervision from the Golf Services Manager, this position will assist in daily Golf maintenance including mowing, trimming, top dressing, treating turf, maintenance of bunkers, hole changing, tree and hedge trimming and general maintenance.

Essential Functions:

* Maintains golf course by mowing, trimming, top dressing, treating turf, maintenance of bunkers, hole changing, hedge trimming and general maintenance

* Operates golf course equipment

* Participates in daily set up of the golf course for play

* Mows greens, tees, aprons and approaches to greens, roughs, and other areas of the golf course

* Aerifies greens, verticuts tees and greens, and spikes greens as assigned

* Prepare and plant sod and seed to greens, tees, and fairways as assigned

* Keeps golf course maintenance equipment fueled, oiled and inspected

* Ensures a pleasant visit for each guest; maintains effective guest relations

* Performs special projects delegated by management

* Stays updated on latest developments pertinent to the department as well as the location

Qualifications:

Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent.

Valid Texas Driver's License

Knowledge and Abilities:

Preferred experience operating golf course equipment and demonstrated outstanding customer service. Must possess willingness to learn and perform new golf maintenance programs. Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, drive and motivation. Flexibility with schedule, with evenings and weekend work as assigned during special events.

Ability to:

* Communicate effectively with others orally and in writing.

* Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.

* Estimate labor, materials, and tools necessary for projects.

* Read and interpret blueprints and property maps.

* Operate computer, calculator, and other office equipment.

* Adapt to frequently changing conditions or needs.

* Work under a schedule.

* Follow oral and written instructions.

* Problem Solve

* Ability to work in all types of weather

* Work some weekends , holidays and be On Call as needed.

Physical Requirements

* Continuously lift and carry up to 10 pounds

* Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds

* Occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds

* Frequently stand and walk during a shift

* Frequently climb ladders, ramps or other inclined surfaces

* Frequently sit, bend and kneel during the shift

* Frequently flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially flex at the knees

* Frequently rotate upper trunk to the right or left while sitting or standing

* Frequently reach above, at or below shoulder height

* Coordinate eye, hand and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle or equipment

Salary: $16.50 Hourly/$34,320.00 Annually
