Woods Rogers seeks a Government Contracts Attorney to join its dynamic Construction and Government Contracts team, one of the largest dedicated construction govcon practices in the Southeast. The Government Contracts Attorney provides legal counsel and representation to clients involved in federal, state, and local government contracting. This position requires expertise in government procurement law and compliance with applicable regulations. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in government contracting in a government agency, in-house legal department, or law firm. This is a full-time, exempt position. Preferred location at our Norfolk, Virginia office, but open to any of our office locations. Will also consider Northern Virginia applicants.

Responsibilities
Legal Advisory: Provide legal counsel on government contract laws, regulations, and policies, ensuring compliance with federal and state statutes.Contract Review: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, amendments, and modifications with government entities.Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with government contracts and advise management on potential issues.Dispute Resolution: Represent clients in negotiations and disputes related to government contracts, including protests and claims.Training and Guidance: Conduct training sessions for internal teams on government contracting regulations and compliance issues.Research and Analysis: Stay updated on changes in government procurement laws and analyze their impact on client contracts and operations.Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, finance, and project management teams to support contract execution and compliance.Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of contract-related communications and decisions.All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
