Summary of Job Duties:
The Graduate Assistant for New Student Orientation and Recruitment assists the professional NSO staff in recruiting, hiring, and training of Orientation Leaders (OL) and Team Leads (TL), which are current undergraduate students. The GA will aid in planning orientation, program innovation, creating charts/graphs, producing training schedules and other supporting documents for the program. The GA will assist the coordinator in creating content and managing the orientation social media. The GA for NSO will collaborate with the professional staff to create activities and training components related to student leadership development. The GA will assist in the supervision of TL's and OL's during training and the duration of the program. The GA will help facilitate components of the orientation program, primarily evening activities. The GA will assist in analyzing data and providing end of the year reports. The GA will assist the Assistant Dean with the coordination of campus visits from area high schools during the school year. The GA will perform related duties as required.
This assistantship is a 12-month position.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be accepted/enrolled into a UAF graduate program through the Graduate School
* Previous experience working an Orientation, Welcome Week, or event planning program
Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous experience giving campus tours, working in academic advising, or student affairs
* Previous experience creating content and managing major social media accounts
