For more information, visit us online at gcsu.edu.Job SummaryThe Graduate Assistant (GA) for the Student Health and Wellbeing will assist with the overall planning, marketing, and administration of student health and wellbeing initiatives. This includes reserching, developing and evaluation programming; promoting and implementing wellbeing campaigns; and student outreach. The GA will collaborate with various units and staff within Student Life and the university at-large to accomplish the goals of the department.Graduate assistants provide educationally beneficial assistance to the departments which award the assistantships. By policy, graduate assistantship duties should be relevant to students' major field of study and shall be of academic value.ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Support - 90%Assist with the overall administration of the Student Health and Wellbeing unit.Attend and actively participate in designated staff meetings, trainings, and strategic planning activities.Assist with the development and implementation of guidelines, policies, and procedures for the operation of the Campus Corner basic needs center.Conduct regular inventory of the Campus Corner; maintain storefront and back-stock and organize donations.Maintain daily operation of the Serenity Den, organize supplies, and develop signage and passive programs.Research best practices in peer mentoring and make recommendations to enhance the quality of programs and services offered.Serve as liaison with Active Minds student organization.Create an innovative marketing plan to increase awareness and participation with Bobcats FIRST pathway in GC Connect. Assist with promotional and marketing materials for programs through flyers, social media, and other outlets.Manage Bobcats FIRST pathway within GC Connect to add and organize relevant events, assist facilitators with attendance tracking, and monitor student participation.Maintain flexible work schedule to coordinate and attend evening and weekend events to facilitate operations and respond to emergencies or problems. Ensure all aspects of events proceed smoothly and in accordance with plans.Represent the department at various college events to include Week of Welcome, Fall Fest, Family Weekend, Homecoming, Spring Fest, etc.Take part in available professional development opportunities, including conferences, trainings, workshops, and certifications.Respond to all communication in a timely manner.Other duties and responsibilities - 10%Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Required QualificationsEducational RequirementsBachelor's degreeOther Required QualificationsBe approved for regular admission to a graduate degree program at Georgia College.Maintain academic good standing. If a student's grade point average falls below a 3.00 (academic warning), the student will have next semester or summer term to improve and return to good standing before termination of the assistantship. Should a student fail to return to good standing after the next semester or summer term, or should a student receive academic exclusion and be dismissed from the degree program, the assistantship will be terminated at once.Graduate assistants are required to work between ten and twenty hours per week (depending on their contracts) for a total of 150-300 hours during the fall and spring semesters.
