JOB SUMMARY:

Provides agreement review and negotiation to faculty and staff of all campus units. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

45% - Essential - Award Review and Negotiation:

Review and negotiate grant agreements to reduce or mitigate risk for the University. Resolves

contractual problems and disputes in compliance issues, such as intellectual property,

publications, insurance requirements. Works with faculty and sponsor representatives to

ensure terms and conditions are appropriate for contract modifications.

45% - Essential - Other Agreement Review and Negotiation:

Review and negotiate other types of agreements to include material transfer agreements,

non-disclosure agreements, data use agreements, etc. while ensuring compliance with

university policies and procedures.

10% - Essential - Proposal Development and Submission:

Compiles application documents in compliance with sponsor guidelines; develops project

budgets; submits application through sponsor grant management systems. Provides

guidance to faculty and staff on Request for Proposal requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Bachelor's Degree - Business, personnel, grant-in-aid or public administration experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES

No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period

Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Expected Salary Range ($ 53,300.00 - $ 86,321.00)

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Normal Operations

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
