Job Description: Established nonprofit organization in housing assistance seeks an experienced Grants Associate/Writer to join their team. The ideal Grants Associate/Writer comes from 2-3+ years of experience within nonprofit grants research and writing, possesses a Bachelor's degree, and has demonstrated experience executing campaigns, funding, and relationship building.

Grants Associate/Writer Job Duties:

  • Support and oversee the daily operations of the organization's Grants & Contracts Department.
  • Manage and lead the research and development of grant proposals for government agencies, foundations, corporations, and community organizations
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Finance, Contracts, Programs, and HR departments and update annual policies and procedures.
  • Lead and manage ongoing research of potential funding opportunities, including government agencies, foundations, corporations, and community organizations.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with reporting, donor recognition, and other contractual obligations as outlined by funders.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers, Executive Leadership, and internal teams to ensure grant compliance, budget preparation, and management of personnel allocations, contracts, and invoicing.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure accurate program representation, track metrics, and produce clear, actionable outcomes.
  • Provide staff with contract/award overviews and assist with maintaining organized electronic and hard copy files.
  • Maintain calendar and solicitation report of all prospects as well as the internal tracker with contact information, guidelines, and annual reports for foundations and government donors.
  • Assist with the creation of content for communication and marketing materials including website, newsletters, annual reports, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Support Finance team in tracking expenditures in alignment with program outcomes.
  • Regularly attend meetings to ensure alignment across departments and provide updates on grant activities/status.
  • Keep abreast of income projections for grants and deadlines.
  • Additional tasks, as requested.

Grants Associate/Writer Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • 2-3+ years of prior experience working in a Grants Writer/Associate role required, preferably within nonprofit housing
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required, Adobe Design Suite preferred
  • Candidate must be comfortable working on weekends occasionally
