Location: Bank Street College of Education, New York, NY

Department: Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO)

Reports to: Director, Strategic Partnerships

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $60-65K

Job Summary:

The Development and Alumni Relations Office at Bank Street College of Education seeks a collaborative and organized Grants Development Associate to support the team's institutional giving efforts. This role offers opportunities for professional growth in grant management, systems development, and partnership coordination. The Grants Development Associate will support the overall grant development lifecycle, with a focus on managing systems and processes, contributing to Bank Street's mission to foster progressive education and community development.

Key Responsibilities:

Grant Management and Tracking:

* Oversee systems for tracking grant activities, deadlines, and milestones, ensuring timely coordination of tasks across teams.

* Maintain records in Raiser's Edge, ensuring data accuracy and proper tracking of funders and grant prospects.

* Assist with grant submissions by managing internal processes, which can include grant writing, maintaining project pipelines, and coordinating materials with stakeholders.

* Collaborate across DARO to identify and track prospective funding opportunities.

Grant Writing and Resource Development:

* Prepare introductory sections of proposals, including organizational descriptions, project summaries, and needs statements, under the guidance of the Director.

* Research and compile background information in collaboration with Manager of Strategic Partnerships on funders and grant opportunities, ensuring alignment with Bank Street's mission and priorities.

* Develop and update standard proposal language templates for frequently requested information, such as organizational history and mission statements.

* Assist in creating proposal attachments, including budgets, timelines, and work plans, in coordination with the team and relevant departments.

Systems Design and Implementation:

* Support the development and management of systems to organize grant-related information, processes, and materials.

* Maintain a repository of templates, language resources, and grant guidelines to streamline the grant application process.

* Maintain a calendar and pipeline for funding opportunities, including tracking deadlines and key submission dates.

Collaboration and Support:

* Support the coordination of grant-related meetings, site visits, and conference calls.

* Assist in gathering organizational documents and supporting materials for grant applications.

* Collaborate with team members to manage cross-functional grant-related projects and ensure smooth communication between teams.

* Fulfill other tasks as needed by the Institutional Giving team, or DARO broadly.

Qualifications:

* Education:

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (English, communications, history, expository writing, journalism, or related area of study).

* Experience:

* Experience in managing and organizing projects in a professional, academic, or internship setting, with familiarity or interest in the non-profit sector and in grant development.

* Skills:

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Docs.

* Familiarity with Raiser's Edge or other database systems is preferred.
