The Everson Museum of Art is seeking a motivated and articulate Grants Manager to join a dynamic team of nonprofit professionals in a one-of-a-kind setting. The Grants Manager is responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to a wide array of foundations and other grant-making organizations, and will persuasively communicate the Everson Museum of Art's mission and programs to potential funders. A key member of the Development team, the Grants Manager, reporting to the Director of Marketing and Development, will work closely with Museum leadership and program staff to develop, assemble, and submit grant requests and reports.
Responsibilities include:
· Developing and writing grant proposals for a wide range of programs and projects, persuasively communicating the organization's mission and programs to potential funders.
· Maintaining a master grants calendar, coordinating staff contributions, and prioritizing projects to meet deadlines.
· Preparing, proofing, and assembling grant packages, including letters, proposals, budgets, and spreadsheets, in accordance with funder guidelines, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to grant guidelines.
· Preparing interim and final reports to funders; Gathering and compiling information regarding a wide range of institutional projects into thorough and accurate.
· Establishing and maintaining personal contact and relationships with foundation and government contacts and program officers.
· Providing high-level research assistance for development of new grant proposals; Conducting in-depth biographical, financial, and philanthropic research on friends, corporations, and foundations to identify prospects using a variety of resources.
· Providing writing support for major donor and individual contribution letters and acknowledgements.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree.
· Prior grant writing experience required with proven track record of success.
· Superior research, writing, and editing skills, with a strong ability to synthesize information and adapt content and tone for multiple audiences.
· Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Familiarity and interest in visual arts and culture; past experience working successful as a grant writer in an arts organization preferred.
Writing samples required for final candidates. This is a full-time, hourly position.
