Adecco Creative and Marketing partnered with a social justice foundation to seek a grants manager.

This six-month contract pays $35-$45/hr, depending of experience. Must work EST hours.

Position Summary

The Foundation seeks full-time, temporary staff to work with its Grants Management department, assisting with various tasks. The Temporary Grants Manager will work under the direction of the Global Director and Associate Directors of Grants Management and in close collaboration with Grants Managers who are assigned to various program teams and regional offices.

Key Responsibilities:

● Support grants managers to plan and monitor grant projections.

● Assist grantmaking teams to review grant proposal materials, obtain and verify correct documentation from grantees, conduct appropriate due diligence, confer with the appropriate internal staff/grantee on follow-up questions, and help to monitor the progress of grants through the approval process.

● Ensure timely and accurate collection of financial documents from the grantee, and in some cases assist the grantmaking team to conduct pre-grant organizational financial health analysis.

● Ensure timely and accurate payments to grantees, including tracking and reviewing grant agreement letters, and confirming updates to banking and board/staff information in the system.

● Track and manage intake of grant reports and manage the internal review process for narrative and financial reports for alignment with Foundation policies, approved grant type, terms of the grant and budget, and contact grantees for revisions as needed.

● Assist staff and grantees with grant modification requests, including changes of grant start/end dates, budgets, increases, decreases and payment terms.

● Conduct research and undertake special projects, as assigned, for example help to produce reports related to grantmaking trends or data analysis.

● Provide support and technical assistance to prospective and current grantees and help resolve system requests and other grant-related issues.

Qualifications:

● A baccalaureate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

● Grants management experience in a philanthropic organization.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work in a high-pressured environment.

● Ability to work effectively with program and other Foundation staff, grantees, and internal and external consultants, both in the U.S and overseas.

● Ability to work independently and analytically, exercising discretion and good judgment.

● Willingness to handle complex, heavy and detailed-oriented workload and assigned special projects.

● Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills.

● Understanding of and sensitivity to diverse cultural norms and practices.

● Strong accounting/bookkeeping skills.

● Knowledge of the legal and compliance issues pertaining to a U.S.-based private foundation with domestic and international grantmaking.

● Familiarity with grants management software and related systems, preferably Fluxx.
