Alderson Loop is looking for a Graphic Designer to join the Retirement Plan Services (RPS) marketing team at a Fortune 500 Investment Firm. The creative team is made up of copywriters, graphic designers, presentation designers, animators, and production designers. This role will be exclusively devoted to doing spec (speculative) creative development for sales meetings. The goal is to develop design materials in the sales prospect's branding to show what their communications might look like if they come on board with the firm.
This resource will need to work onsite 3 days a week in Owings Mills, MD.
Salary Range - $60,000 - $85,000
Summary:
The main function of the Graphic Designer is to create designs, concepts and sample layouts based on design principles and concepts. A typical graphic designer needs to have a high level of creativity and able to communicate their ideas to both internal and external clients. The ability to be flexible to client demands, work well under pressure and multi-task are required skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the development of creative design concepts and plans which reach and engage clients; may lead small projects or campaigns. Partners with Editorial staff who contribute the written content and complete final reviews.
- Applies intermediate knowledge of design theory (typography, color, balance, scale, etc.) and tactics (storyboarding, wire-framing, prototyping) to create multimedia collateral.
- Participates in creative meetings for project kickoffs and brainstorming sessions. Builds a conceptual design in support of marketing campaigns. Presents ideas, seeks feedback from peers and senior colleagues, and incorporates it into design assignments.
- Applies style guidelines to drive consistency, brand alignment, and design integrity. May partner with technology colleagues to test user experience design for digital media.
- Plan, analyze and create visual solutions to communication problems
- Develop overall layout and production design of publications or web interfaces as they relate to graphic design
- Prepare sketches or layouts to present to client
- Create charts and graphs from data given
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in design and/or certificate in graphic design required. Bachelor's degree in design or related field preferred
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Previous experience working at an enterprise firm that is regulated is highly desired
- Previous in-house designer experience required
- Previous experience creating graphics for sales vs branding is highly desired
- Basic ability to visualize in 2D and 3D and understand aesthetic aspects of design
- Previous illustration experience would be nice to have to create storyboards
- Previous experience using the computer to create layouts and generate new images
- Experience with Adobe publishing and graphics software
